President of Somaliland Holds Consultative Meeting with Former Presidents and Vice Presidents
A Historic Gathering to Discuss National Priorities and Unity in Somaliland
Hargeisa, December 27, 2024 – The President of the Republic of Somaliland, Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Cirro), accompanied by Vice President Mohamed Ali Aw Abdi, convened a consultative meeting today with former presidents and vice presidents of Somaliland. The landmark meeting aimed to address pressing national issues and reinforce the country’s unity and stability.
The gathering included prominent leaders who have played pivotal roles in Somaliland’s history. Among those in attendance were:
1. Muse Bihi Abdi, the 5th President of Somaliland,
2. Dahir Rayale Kahin, the 3rd President of Somaliland,
3. Ahmed Yusuf Yasin, the 3rd Vice President of Somaliland,
4. Abdirahman Aw Ali Farah, the 2nd Vice President of Somaliland.
Also present was Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail (Saylici), who served as the 4th and 5th Vice President. However, he excused himself early due to the recent passing of his mother in Borama. The leaders collectively expressed their condolences for his loss, emphasizing the importance of solidarity in times of grief.
In addition, Baashe Mohamed Farah, the former Speaker of the Somaliland House of Representatives, joined the discussions. Unfortunately, the 1st Vice President of Somaliland, Hassan Essa Jama, was unable to attend due to health reasons. The participants extended their prayers for his swift recovery.
